Eve 199? Channel 8 CB Mayhem from 1996 This was one
of the worst re-occurring daily CB fights I remember
hearing in Rock Hill, S.C. Just about every decent
CB'er in Rock Hill got off the air during this
period including me. These jerks ruined the CB for
everybody. I'm not sure how it ended as I
moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1998. Maybe they just
finally wore themselves out. In any case most of
the instigators on these recordings will not be back
on the air as they are no longer alive. World Famous Eyeballer
eventually had his Moonraker 4 beam pulled down by
irate CB'ers. On the three recordings listed below you
can hear him boast that no one was going to shut him
down. Famous last words! According to Rock Hill
CB lore they tied a rope to his coax, tied the other
end to their car bumper and then drove off. The
rumor is his radio came flying out through the window
still attached to the other end of the coax. Karma struck Machine Shop Sam as well. His coax was cut multiple times. A local ham operator told me Machine Shop Sam tried to bribe some of the Ham V.E.C.'s to give him a ham license even though he failed the test, but they threw him out of the testing session instead. Eventually he did get his technician class ham license in another nearby town, but when his call letters were assigned he was given "KF4STD". The locals had a fit. They nicknamed him KF4- Sexually Transmitted Disease. He passed away a few years ago. This is all that is left of World
Famous Eyeballer's Moonraker 4 Recorded by Night Ranger in 1996. The
receiver is a Drake TR-7. Channel
